What are you doing to help keep your family afloat?

I plan to start a garden. I am going to try the square foot method.

It will be a real adventure. I don't have a green thumb and I will have to find a way to keep it away from the deer!

With all that is going on with the economy I thought I would start gathering ideas for saving! What are some of the things you are doing to save?

I bought a bread machine months ago, I am trying to bake more of our own bread. I am also thinking about trying to make pizza dough in it.
